3rd Party Observations 3rd party observations are commentaries from other group members which are added to the final edit. Co discovery tracks (participant’s narratives) are layered over one another. Each offers a perspective of the same scenario from a different person’s point of view. This allow researchers to identify commonalties and disconnects that exist between different standpoints. Tracks can be viewed and heard selecting the corresponding option from the interactive DVD. |
Task Analysis The technique derived from Human Factors helps inform our understanding of the specific components and actions of the user during a task. Typical task analysis evaluation involves understanding: • Task requirements • Task environment • Task behaviour Interviews At the very start of the research process Naked Eye field interviews and record these onto video cameras. Transcripts of the interview inform field notes, frame questions for co-discovery and help guide the ethnographer’s thinking at the early stages of a study. Since we are more interested in what people do rather than what they say they we use interviews as a secondary research tool to support analysis rather to inform it directly. |
