She completed an MA in Visual Anthropology at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology before going on to study documentary direction at the National Film and Television School.		Her graduation film was broadcast on BBC4 and was awarded the Beck’s Futures Student Prize for Film & Video 2005. Since graduating from the film school Julie has directed her first feature length documentary and produced two sets of ‘3 Minute Wonders’ for Channel 4.
